VEHICLE MODIFICATIONS

Every vehicle is different.

Whether your changes are completed or planned, we’ll talk through the details and assess each enquiry on its own merits.

Start with a conversation.

Share the vehicle details, the changes and any supporting paperwork.

WHY MOD PLATES MATTER.

Significant changes can affect how a vehicle protects passengers, handles or stops. In Queensland, complex modifications must be certified by an appropriately accredited Approved Person.

A mod plate and certificate record that the modification has been inspected and meets the applicable requirements.

Changes that can need certification

Common examples for light vehicles up to 4.5 tonnes GVM:

Seats & restraints
Permanent seating reductions, replacement seats, and changes to seatbelts or their anchorages.
Engine & driveline
Engine conversions, turbo or supercharger installations, and gearbox or rear axle changes beyond permitted basic replacements.
Body & chassis
Structural body changes, chassis alterations, wheelbase changes and campervan conversions.
Brakes, steering & suspension
Brake or steering conversions, suspension changes beyond permitted limits, and changes to the vehicle’s rated load capacity.

Your modification: Requirements depend on the vehicle and the work. Get in touch to discuss your completed or planned changes.
